Inspired by his experience with disaster relief in multiple hurricanes on the coastline of the Carolinas, Douglas wondered why the streamlined disaster relief provided by private citizens directly helping their neighbors couldn’t be replicated on a world-wide scale. Often more productive - and always faster - than tax-funded disaster relief agencies, private problem-solving efforts had unique advantages that no government or NGO could parallel. McKinstry Engineering aims to take the efficiency of neighbor helping neighbor global.
